Handmade one of a kind ceramic art.
Original ceramic animal sculptures, combining my love for both clay and psychology through the exploration of vulnerability, human emotions and experiences.
My work is heavily influenced by my current role as a talk therapist within the homeless population and in my private practice. My job continues to inspire my creativity and obsession for Hares as a means to explore what I learn and experience from others.
I notice a mirroring between the hypervigilant Hares which are often viewed as capable fighters, battling for dominance and power, and the juxtaposition of the vulnerability that I observe in my client group. They are surviving, living within their fight or flight system to keep themselves safe and survive in the difficult world they live within.
The beautiful listening ears are a continued point of fascination. Undoubtedly I am drawn to these, as in therapy these are important tools. I am reminded every day how important it is for people to feel heard. There are many moments and feelings we share in relationships with others. To me, the Hare captures these beautifully.
My work reflects the many emotions that we all have the ability to feel throughout our lives, no matter what our situation is. It is about noticing our own, and paying attention to the ones we observe in others.
