I am a contemporary ceramic artist and Integrative psychotherapist based in South Wales.
My relationship with clay began at 14, during a Duke of Edinburgh evening class. I fell in love with the material and have never looked back.
I specialised in ceramics throughout my foundation year at Hereford Art College and continued at Cardiff Met (formerly known as U.W.I.C), completing a BA in Ceramics in 2003.
Always struggling to sit still, my career has reflected that; diverse, movement filled, and deeply relational.
In my twenties and early thirties, I ran a personal training business focused on supporting people with mental health challenges and improving peoples sense of well being. That work led me to volunteer within the prison system, where I subsequently began teaching ceramics. It was a natural fusion of my love of clay and my motivation to work with those navigating emotional difficulty. Alongside this, I trained as an Integrative psychotherapist.
I have worked for many years with people affected by trauma, homelessness and substance use before setting up my own private practice in psychotherapy. Each chapter has shaped the creative and therapeutic practice that I hold today.
The Hare: A Reflection on Human Experience.
My fascination with hares began whilst I was teaching ceramics in the prison system.
Hares embody both hypervigilance and vulnerability, mirroring the survival instincts of those navigating difficult realities.
Their listening ears hold special significance, reminding me daily of the profound power of being heard. Through my art, I try to explore the emotions we all share, creating work that invites reflection, connection, and the beauty of noticing.
